Q: I have a family member who is currently working in a volunteer (non-paid) capacity at an AKDN institution. Can I still participate?
A: Yes, as long as the position is not a paid position. Several members of the community are volunteering their time and we do not want to exclude their families from the Challenge.
Q: In early 2007, I worked for an AKDN institution in a paid capacity, can I still participate?
A: Yes, as long as your position ended before August 31, 2007 (i.e., at least 6 months before February 29, 2008).
Q: I have a family member currently working for an organization owned by AKFED. Can I still participate?
A: Yes, as long as your family member does not work directly for AKFED. AKFED owns over 200 companies and we do not intend to limit families working within these companies. To discuss your specific circumstances, please email us at to obtain further clarification.
Q: I was on the Spark of Knowledge organizing team for Knowledge Symposium and/or Knowledge Quest. Am I eligible to participate?
A: Yes, as long as you are not assisting in any way on the Knowledge Discovery Challenge.
